What is it all about?

Hi, My name is Pete Jarvis. I have been a computer monkey since I was 12 years old. That’s about it, my life in a few words.

I have worked in the Graphic Design industry for over 20 years and have decided, I have had enough. I want to change my life. In fact, I am going to change my life and I going to use this blog to do it. This is an exciting time for me.

My new writing name is Bayley (after my son) and Trew . . .  Bayley Trew. A friend of mine, who works at the local college, read a piece I had written where the protagonist went by the name of Bayley Trew. She mentioned that it would be a great pseudonym to write under, so here I am.

I hope that goes someway to explaining why my blog is called petespress but my name appears as Bayley Trew. I don’t want any confusion.

Here goes . . . . I want to write. I want to be a short story creator and a novellist. I would love to engage with writers and authors through my writings. Have I said, I am really excited?.

Finally, after 10 years of internet development under my belt, I am going to start my own blog. I have hesitated and deliberated for far too long. Simply, because I wanted to wait until I had the time to fully commit to its content. In addition; my head is now full of opinions, stories, anecdotes and literary mush and I want to release it on an unsuspecting public.

I would also like to add that my grammar may not be the best. To help me with this issue I am starting an english language and literature course at my local college in September of this year (2011). Hopefully this will fill the holes in my grammatical colander. I would appreciate your understanding, even though I may not deserve it, that my writing ability is in development.

I would love to hear your opinions on my writings, it will only help me grown and improve.

Good luck on your chosen path.
Like you, I recently started a blog to give me the chance to write & share my stories. i have found blogs & prompts like InMon great & I am enjoying the links I’m developing with other writers & bloggers.
I was not as courageous as you because I waited for retirement before I threw myself into my writing – but I’m having great fun.
I’m looking forward to reading more of your work

Hi Milke. Thank you for sending some luck my way. It will definitely help. I feel exactly the same as you do. I want to share my life and stories. I sense you are right, it is a courageous move. I have given up a very successful career to follow this dream. I get more satisfaction from writing 500 words than I ever got from creating an e-commerce site for a client, you probably understand that more than I do. I hope you are finding great success in your writings. Thank you so much for dropping by my blog, I will repay the compliment.

Oh I see we have the same goal. I also started blogging to improve my writing. Not anything serious but I love writing and reading, as of now.

Good Luck on our journey. I hope we both can make it.

Like I said before: you can count me in on your journey. When I first started blogging last year, holy crap was I just…awful. But it didn’t really matter, since I basically had no readers.
It wasn’t until a few months later that I realized I really needed to settle down and get serious about my writing journey, real life set aside. And since then, I’ve watched myself grow. If I could, I would delete each every single one of my older posts, but I realize now that in each one I can see myself improving.
And there’s nothing better than that.
Sending loads and loads of luck your way!
    =)

I have already been through that first part of my journey and now how a few people who read my posts, it’s exciting. And if they are reading this reply, appreciated. They have given me confidence to continue with my journey. I have wanted to start a blog for a long time but wasn’t sure what I wanted the content to be, but I feel I have found what it is I want from my blog now. I have read some of your earlier posts and then your later posts and, yes, you can see the difference. You must be pleased with what you have achieved with your blog. Thank you again for the luck. =)
